The Playful Mind: An Empty Space & Ontoconscience

The Playful Mind: An Empty Space & Ontoconscience

Patrick continues with new research at the frontier of game theory and sci-fi fantasy storytelling in the search for a solution to a no-exit endgame. Building on themes addressed in the various Masterclass sessions in Hong Kong, Shanghai and Singapore, in particular neotenic data patterns and artificial moral agents [AMAs], Patrick refers to The Tao of Robot Ethics and Neoteny: Something Abstract is Thinking. Both represent earlier themes explored with international audiences, themes that will contribute towards a book proposed for 2027. The sci-fi narrative, along with LitRPG cum game theory mechanics will build on earlier research into sentient algorithms like Al. Gorithm. The purpose is to explore the possibility of a dark ecosystem of an undiscovered number pattern that neither coder, programmer nor hacker can solve.

First principles had been to design a game. Then to recognise that there are moments when the fantastical player character dubbed My|self loses touch with time, and with two-dimensional reality. It could be you in an existential crisis. In a no-exit endgame My|self discovers a mental space untouched by reality, an empty space that allows My|self to feel like a fantastical character in a game of imagination. It is as if an existential crisis produces a calculating system that incorporates the brain’s changing reaction to  ‘no-exit’ in a no-exit endgame. It’s almost absurd, but it enables this character to self-block and to reach an endgame in the playful mind. Self-blocking creates a visual surprise, a palimpsest matrix of imaginary in-game numbers. It facilitates self-memory and ontoconscience©, new terms defined in this new book. It’s theme builds on the construction of a geometric topology of the brain, a topology that pronounces that an undiscovered pattern of numbers [henceforth UP0N© ] originates from the energy of neurons firing in the empty space.

Thus, if the energy of the empty space is positive then not only can it change over time, T, it must. That’s string theory. So, a phastasy process at T occurs, we call interpolation©, a process that we as humans do not understand IRL – but if the mind is framed as a superset of the brain’s topology then maybe Myself’s mind could sense the pattern. A game of imagination designed with fantastical non-playing characters could be relevant in understanding human behaviour in an age of existential crises –  recurrent pandemics, continuing climate catastrophes, inevitable nuclear winters, ongoing supply chain shortages or bespoke personal tragedy. More discussions will appear in Patrick’s Blog entries as he prepares for a symposium proposed in 2027 to take place in Turin on the theme of AI, artificial intelligence as superintelligence.
